A Journeys of Joy initiative by Feelivacation
Travel can show you a new place.
Sometimes, it can show you a new possibility.
A travel-led exposure programme for young adults moving towards employment, confidence and independent life.
Journeys of Joy began with a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the world beyond their everyday surroundings.
As we began working towards our first Journey of Joy, another need emerged.
What happens when a young person reaches 18, 19 or 20?
When childhood support begins to reduce.
When employment, independence and the realities of adult life suddenly come closer.
At that stage, a meaningful journey can do something different.
It can create exposure.
It can introduce workplaces, industries, people, professions, cities and possibilities that may previously have existed only as words.
That is why we created Journey Forward.
Young people already attend workshops.
They attend classes.
They receive certificates.
They hear people talk about careers.
Journey Forward asks a different question: what if they could actually experience those worlds?
Walk through a hotel and understand how it operates
Meet a General Manager
Observe a front-office team
See how professional guides tell the story of a destination
Understand customer experience
Meet entrepreneurs
Visit workplaces
Travel to another city
Sit across the table from professionals and ask questions
Sometimes employability starts before the job interview. It starts when someone gets the opportunity to see what is possible.
Every programme is designed around the participating cohort.
Young adults may experience:
Depending on the destination and programme, participants may visit:
Access to people young adults may otherwise rarely meet:
Not as motivational speakers on a stage. As people they can talk to, question and learn from.
Journey Forward is intentionally not conducted entirely inside a classroom. The journey itself teaches.
Navigating a new destination
Checking into a hotel
Interacting with people
Eating together
Understanding schedules
Observing service
Experiencing professional environments
Speaking confidently
Taking responsibility
Seeing another way of living and working
Exposure becomes experiential learning.
Journey Forward can be designed with organisations supporting:
Young adults transitioning from institutional care towards independent life.
Young people preparing to enter the workforce.
Participants who have received vocational training and would benefit from real-world exposure.
Especially programmes focused on independence, confidence, livelihoods and workforce participation.
Young adults whose circumstances have limited their exposure to workplaces, industries and destinations.
Where appropriate accessibility and support can be designed together with specialist organisations.
01
We collaborate with an NGO, foundation, institution or community organisation that understands the participating young adults and their developmental needs.
02
Together, we identify what the journey should achieve. Career exposure? Hospitality orientation? Confidence? Destination guiding? Customer service? Independent living? Professional interaction?
03
Accommodation. Transportation. Meals. Destination experiences. Industry visits. Professional conversations. Operational coordination.
04
Participants travel, interact, observe, question and experience.
05
The journey concludes with structured reflection, feedback and learnings that the participating organisation can integrate into its larger youth-development programme.
And it is not classroom training with sightseeing added afterwards.
The journey itself is the intervention.
Travel. Exposure. Professional environments. Human interaction. Independence. Curiosity. Confidence. Reflection. All become part of one carefully designed experience.
No single organisation has to do everything.
You understand the young people. You bring:
A Journey Forward programme can complement initiatives around:
Corporates may enable an entire programme or support specific components in collaboration with an appropriate implementation partner.
You can provide something extraordinarily valuable without necessarily writing a cheque. Open your workplace. Allow young people to understand:
A two-hour interaction can sometimes expose someone to a career they never knew existed.
Invite participants into your workplace.
Transport companies, attractions, guides, restaurants, DMCs and experience providers can contribute to the journey ecosystem.
Imagine:
3 Days / 2 Nights
Resort & destination immersion
Workplace & city exposure
Different destinations. Different industries. Different possibilities.
Journeys of Joy and Journey Forward serve different moments in life.
For children
Wonder. Exploration. Childhood. Memories.
Helping children experience travel, destinations and firsts that may otherwise remain inaccessible.
Explore Journeys of JoyFor young adults
Exposure. Confidence. Independence. Possibility.
Using travel and real-world environments to help young people see what could come next.
Together they represent one larger belief:
Travel can expand the world someone sees. And sometimes that can change the future they imagine for themselves.
Every Journey Forward programme should be:
Designed around a meaningful exposure outcome.
Created with organisations that understand the participants.
Learning happens through doing, seeing and interacting.
Participants are young adults exploring possibilities — never beneficiaries displayed for publicity.
Travel, accommodation, transportation and programme logistics are professionally coordinated.
Where required, programmes can include participation data, exposure hours, feedback, reflections and agreed outcome indicators.
You understand the people. We understand the journey. Together, we can create something neither side could create alone.
If your organisation works with:
we would love to explore a Journey Forward programme with you.
Move beyond another seminar. Enable young people to experience industries, workplaces and possibilities firsthand.
Journey Forward programmes can be developed with appropriate NGO and implementation partners and aligned with relevant social-impact objectives.
Sometimes the most valuable thing you can offer is access.
Open your workplace. Share your knowledge. Allow a young person to see a profession from the inside.
Instead of
“What jobs are available to me?”
A young person may begin asking
“How do I become part of this industry?”
Instead of
“Can someone like me do this?”
Perhaps
“What do I need to learn to get there?”
That shift matters.
Tell us about your organisation and the young adults you work with, and we will take the conversation forward. Please mention “Journey Forward” in your message.

See More. Experience More. Imagine More.
